1. Acceptance
By using RepairAlmanac, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Estimates are informational, not quotes
Our cost figures are estimates generated from published cost data and local factors. They are not quotes, offers, or guarantees of price. Actual cost depends on your specific project and the contractor you hire. We do not perform repairs and do not sell them.
3. We do not select, vet, endorse, or supervise contractors
RepairAlmanac is an information service. We are not a contractor, broker, or general contractor, and we do not perform, arrange, manage, or supervise any repair work.
If you consent, we pass your request to a lead buyer or lead network, which may distribute it to one or more independent third-party contractors. We do not choose which contractor contacts you.
We make no representation or warranty of any kind about any contractor, including as to their identity, licensing, bonding, insurance, certifications, qualifications, background, pricing, honesty, safety, timeliness, or the quality, workmanship, or completion of any work they perform. We do not screen, vet, verify, endorse, recommend, or guarantee any contractor, and a contractor contacting you is not an endorsement by us.
Contractors are not our employees, agents, partners, or representatives, and they have no authority to act for us. We are not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor. Any contract, quote, price, scope of work, payment, warranty, guarantee, dispute, damage, injury, loss, or defect arising from work performed is solely between you and that contractor, and we bear no responsibility or liability for it.
4. Your responsibilities - you must vet the contractor
You agree to provide accurate information and to use the site lawfully.You are solely responsible for independently vetting any contractor before hiring them, including verifying their license and insurance (in Virginia, through theDepartment of Professional and Occupational Regulation), checking references and reviews, confirming the scope and price in writing, and satisfying yourself as to their suitability. Do not rely on us for any of this.
5. Consent to be contacted
Any authorization you give to be contacted is described at the point of consent on our form and stored with your submission. See our Privacy Policy.
6. No warranty; limitation of liability
The site, the estimates, and any contractor introduction are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, workmanlike performance, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RepairAlmanac is not liable for any damages- direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive - arising from or related to your use of the site, the estimates, or any act or omission of any contractor, including defective, incomplete, delayed, negligent, or unsafe work, property damage, personal injury, overcharging, or failure to perform. This applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort, warranty, statute, or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
You release RepairAlmanac from any claim or dispute you have with a contractor and agree to pursue it against that contractor directly.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date reflects the current version.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
