Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
1. Who we are
RepairAlmanac ("we," "us") publishes local home-repair cost estimates and, when you ask, connects you with independent repair contractors. This policy explains what personal information we collect and your choices.
2. Information we collect
- Contact and project details you submit to be matched with a contractor: name, phone, email, address/ZIP, and the repair you selected.
- Consent record: the exact consent language you agreed to, its version, a timestamp, and your IP address.
- Technical data: IP address and a bot-verification (Cloudflare Turnstile) result to prevent abuse.
Using the cost calculator and browsing the site do not require you to submit any personal information.
3. How we use it
To match you with contractors you consent to, to prevent spam and abuse, to keep records required by law, and to operate and improve the site.
4. How we share and "sell/share" your information
When you consent, we share your contact and project details with the specific independent contractor(s) you selected so they can contact you. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for lead generation. We do not sell information about you except as part of this contractor-matching you request.
5. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including under the CCPA/CPRA in California and the VCDPA in Virginia), you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you;
- Delete it, or correct it;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; and
- Opt out of processing for targeted advertising or profiling.
To exercise any of these, see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information or email privacy@repairalmanac.com.
6. Data retention
We keep consent and lead records for at least five years to meet legal and evidentiary requirements, and we maintain opt-out (Do Not Contact) suppression records as required by law.
7. Security
Records are stored in access-controlled infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
